Father Daughter Trip {Back Home}

Dad and I got back last night from an awesome weekend in Colorado.  It totally exceeded my expectations, and being back in the place I called home for 4 years brought back so many nostalgic and loving feelings for that little city.  We did plenty of eating, drinking, reminiscing, and cheering on my team, and the weekend flew by way too fast for my liking.  Once I get my pictures working {silly new iPhone} I will share, but in the meantime, here's a pic of us at the game - the whole reason we ended up in the Rockies this weekend.  Go Rams!

Father/Daughter Trip

I can't believe it's been over 10 years since I graduated from CSU!  Looking back through these pictures last night made me feel so nostalgic, so I'm beyond excited that Dad & I are heading out to Colorado today to take a trip down memory lane.  It's the last year that the Rams will be playing at Hughes Stadium, the best college football stadium in my opinion, so we're going back for one last game before the team heads to their brand new on-campus digs.  There's something so special about Hughes, set right in the foothills of the Rockies in a huge open field and it's for sure the best tailgating around.  Here are a few pics from a tailgate back in the day, and I'll have many more pics for you when we get back next week!  Oh, and Go Rams!!

San Fermo

Last week, in keeping with tradition, Erika took me out for a belated birthday dinner just the two of us.  We always try to go somewhere new to us, and since we usually pick somewhere Italian {why wouldn't we?} we ended up at San Fermo, a new super cute spot on Ballard Ave.  This old house with a sweet front porch has been converted into a charming {and busy!} little Italian restaurant right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood.  Inside, there are several different rooms to eat in so it really feels like you're having dinner at someone's house.  Us being us, we ordered a yummy bottle of wine, several bowls of delicious pasta and other dishes to share and spent the next few hours drinking, eating, laughing, gossiping, and catching up on everything going on in our busy lives.  I love these nights alone with this lady where we can just be our total selves and relax, but I know it's been way too long since I've seen that little Linnea that it's time I made a trip over there ASAP.  Thanks again for a lovely dinner Erika - can't wait to do it again very soon! :)

Go Hawks!!

Sunday morning Leslie and I continued our tradition of going to the Seahawks home opener.  It started out a little chilly, but ended up a gorgeous and sunny day to be outside watching the Hawks {at one point, it even felt almost too hot in the sun}.  We woke up bright and early for breakfast at Planet Java before heading to The Lodge to meet up with the Jacobs family for some pregame beers.  We got into the stadium early to wander around looking at the new food options and check out some merchandise before heading to our seats to watch the Hawks stand in solidarity together for the national anthem.  The game was a bit slow going, but with a 4th quarter TD pass to Dougy Doug we were able to pull ahead and take home the win.  It was such a fun day watching the boys win their opener - even my bus driver home started a "Sea-HAWKS" chant that woke a sleeping baby :) - and I'm hoping they keep it going throughout the entire season.  Thanks for inviting me Leslie - and Go Hawks!!

Namaste

How was your weekend?  I felt like I was bouncing around each day, but it was all fun stuff so no complaints here.  Saturday morning I woke up and the sun was shining through my window, so I decided to head down to the Olympic Sculpture Park for the Summer at SAM free outdoor yoga series.  I've been a few times this year and every time I finish class I wonder to myself why I'm not doing yoga every single day.  It makes me feel so rejuvenated and refreshed yet strong and balanced, and my mind is always clear and calm after an hour long practice.  I think it's about time to start incorporating some more classes into my daily routine - feeling that good and centered is definitely not a bad thing :)

Hope you had a fun and relaxing weekend!

Blue Friday!

It's football time!!!  To me, there's nothing better than wearing my jersey on Friday and watching the boys play on Sunday - it makes me insanely happy :)  I'm incredibly pumped for this season, and I'm so excited that I once again get to accompany Leslie to opening day at the CLink!  I'll be cheering as loud as I can from the stands - I think it's going to be a great season and I can't wait for it to get started!  Hopefully you're wearing your blue today and are just as excited as I am.  In the words of a very wise man...... GO HAWKS!!!
