After our day in Taos we ventured back towards Santa Fe, stopping along the way to take in the views both from far away and right up close of the Rio Grande River. The blue skies were gorgeous as we watched families fishing and the river lazily flowing, but it was incredibly chilly as a storm was blowing into the area for the night. After we got back to Santa Fe we freshened up at the hotel then headed into town before the sun set for a little shopping and wandering. Since we were early for dinner we stopped in for a margarita by the fire at
Del Charro Saloon, then made our way to
Paloma, the restaurant we had waited in line for the night before but had been turned away due to it being so busy. Paloma was one of my favorite meals of the trip - from the cozy vibe of the restaurant to the insanely delicious food and drinks, it was such a fun experience and one I'm so glad we went to. If you go, make sure to get the pineapple habanero margarita and the salsa sampler to go with everything - but basically you cannot go wrong with anything on this delicious menu. I'm still drooling over the memory of that meal.... :)
