Happy 1st Birthday Henry!

Happy 1st Birthday to this wonderful little dude!  Henry, I can't believe it's been a year since you came into our lives - you are the sweetest, coolest little guy and always so observant and chill.  You aren't the easiest laugh to get, making it that much better when we do get a good one out of you :)  We love you so so much and love watching your little personality develop into a strong and happy kiddo.  Happy Birthday buddy - can't wait to celebrate you!

New Mexico {Snowy Canyon Road}

On Monday, Christian's birthday, we woke up to snow {and no power in the hotel}!  We had been hearing rumors of it in the forecast but were surprised when we woke up to a somewhat winter wonderland covering Santa Fe.  After a quick breakfast at the hotel {once the power was back on}, we spent the morning wandering along Canyon Road, a half mile road just a block from our hotel full of over 100 galleries, shops, and restaurants.  Either due to the snow or it being a Monday, the street was relatively quiet so we had the galleries mostly to ourselves while we wandered in and out, admiring the art and wishing we had a lot more money to spend :)

New Mexico {The Rio Grande & Paloma}

After our day in Taos we ventured back towards Santa Fe, stopping along the way to take in the views both from far away and right up close of the Rio Grande River.  The blue skies were gorgeous as we watched families fishing and the river lazily flowing, but it was incredibly chilly as a storm was blowing into the area for the night.  After we got back to Santa Fe we freshened up at the hotel then headed into town before the sun set for a little shopping and wandering.  Since we were early for dinner we stopped in for a margarita by the fire at Del Charro Saloon, then made our way to Paloma, the restaurant we had waited in line for the night before but had been turned away due to it being so busy.  Paloma was one of my favorite meals of the trip - from the cozy vibe of the restaurant to the insanely delicious food and drinks, it was such a fun experience and one I'm so glad we went to.  If you go, make sure to get the pineapple habanero margarita and the salsa sampler to go with everything - but basically you cannot go wrong with anything on this delicious menu.  I'm still drooling over the memory of that meal.... :)
