Beyond the Margarita

Way back in February, while perusing the Tom Douglas website, I came across another cocktail class (read about the first one we attended here) set for May.  The theme?  "Beyond the Margarita", a nod to the upcoming Cinco de Mayo holiday.  I immediately purchased 2 tickets (good thing - a few days later they were sold out) and decided it'd be a great belated birthday present for Stefanie.  This time, the class was held around the bar at Seatown, and each drink was tequila based with a corresponding appetizer.  For $25 a person, the class was a steal.  Though I loved the Christmas-y feeling of our first class, this one was much more my cup of tea tequila and we both agreed that we can't wait to try making all of the yummy but distinctly different drinks at home.  Here's the recipe for our last drink of the evening - and hopefully with this nice weather we're having, I'll get a chance to whip up the other two refreshing cocktails to share with you soon!  Enjoy :)

Sangrita
4 cups tomato juice
1 cup orange juice
2oz lime juice
1/4 tsp salt
15 dashes each red and green tobasco
25 turns cracked pepper

Mix it all up and serve as a chaser while sipping your favorite tequila (our bartender suggested silver or reposado).  Batch makes approximately 14 servings.
