Putt Putt with Pags

Last week, after 2.5 years, we finally got to meet up with Leslie while she was in town {the last time we saw her in person was at the wedding!}.  C and I met up with her at Maggie Bluffs for an early dinner overlooking the water, then we all gathered with Cullen and Mac for {what else?} putt putt at Interbay.  The weather was perfect and the crowds sparse making it the ideal evening for some friendly competition and lots of laughs.  Being on the course brought back so many memories {ahh the hours we've put in at this place} and no matter how long it has been with this crew, we always get right back in the groove like it was just yesterday.  After the game {I won't tell you who won} we weren't quite ready to part, so we grabbed another drink and sat outside until the sun was had set, catching up on old acquaintances, new shows, and everything in between.  It was such a joy to spend time with these humans and I'm really hoping it's not nearly that long until the next time!

Brunch & Lunch with Mom & Dad

Another fun part of our weekend was hosting Mom & Dad after they went to the Mariner game Saturday night.  Though we didn't have a lot of catch up time Saturday, we awoke early Sunday for quiche, blueberry muffins, and a lazy morning of coffee & Wordle.  After some time on the roof, we headed down to the Beach at Expedia to walk along the water and take in the pretty views of the city and the giant cruise boats at Elliott Bay.  We ran some errands {namely Total Wine & Homegoods}, then had a delicious and long lunch at Maggie Bluffs overlooking the marina and eating tasty seafood before it was time to head home and all get ready for the week ahead.  It was a quick trip but one I'm always exited to host!

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!! I can’t believe it’s the end of August and fall is right around the corner. While I won’t miss the heat advisories and trying to stay cool, I will miss the long summer nights, warm after dinner walks, and pretty sunsets like this. Trying to soak up as much summer as I can over here and I suggest you do the same!

Joule {Anniversary Dinner}

Our first few anniversary dinner's we celebrated at The Whale Wins where we had our first date, but with the pandemic the past few years {and C gone last year to Sweden} we've switched it up to other places we love to celebrate the milestone.  This year we got pretty close to The Whale Wins {about as close as you can get}, opting to try out their neighboring restaurant Joule {they share a building} that neither of us had been to in at least 10 years but has been getting rave reviews and recent James Beard nominations.  We booked a table outside on their front patio, not realizing how hot it was going to be and that we'd get the only patio table in the sun, but that didn't stop us from enjoying plate after plate of delicious and inventive Korean fusion food and some of the yummiest cocktails I've had in a long time.  We were directly across the patio from that first date spot 5 years ago and it was so fun to reminisce on the past year and what we hope to happen in the next.  It was one of the best meals I've had in a very long time and I'll be sure to not wait another 10 years to try it again!  Cheers to 5 years with this most handsome guy - it just keeps getting better!

Cafe Hagen {Breakfast}

Since it was such a beautiful day we decided to walk to the Storm game a few weeks ago, stopping along the way for breakfast.  We decided on Cafe Hagen where we've stopped many times for coffee and a pastry for the long walk back up the hill, but never for their actual breakfast menu.  We each got a yummy coffee and breakfast sandwiches to eat on their outdoor patio, and while the food was delicious and hit the spot it was pretty pricey for how small the sandwiches were {they were about $15 each, plus coffees}.  I guess with the price of bacon these days I can't be surprised :) It was still worth it for some yummy food before the game and one of my favorite chai's in the city, so if you're looking for a quick breakfast on Lower QA or just some yummy treats, definitely stop in and give it a try!

Seattle Storm & Sue Bird

The Seattle Storm have won their first two playoff games of the year {go Storm!!} so I thought I'd bring us back to a few weeks ago when Christian and I went to our first Storm game, their {and Sue Bird's} last regular season home game of the year.  I know Sue Bird is a legend, but I think I underestimated just how loved she is and how exciting and emotional this game would be {the first sellout of the year}.  We got to the new Climate Pledge Arena super early {but not early enough for free shirts} to walk around the bright and airy facilities and take in all of the Sue Bird fandom.  The energy was electric and our seats gave us a perfect view of all of the days festivities, celebrations, and of course, the game.  Though the Storm lost, they still managed to make the game super exciting and all of the pre and post game festivities celebrating Sue and her legacy in Seattle made it an extra special day to be there.  We went into the game not knowing what to expect, but we definitely left as two Storm {and Sue Bird} mega-fans.  Thank you Sue, and let's go Storm!!!
