When trying to decide what to do for my birthday, I kept coming back to kayaking. We had so much fun when we went a few years ago and with the temps being HOT, being on the water sounded like the best place to be. Upon doing a little research, Christian found that Sail Sand Point has sit-atop kayaks for rent {as opposed to the ones where your legs are completely covered} which ended up being perfect for putting our feet in the water to cool off {and also just more comfortable all around - highly recommend}. We got there a little before they opened and were the first in line to grab kayaks and head out on the water. I loved that Magnuson Park was a bit quieter than our last excursion on Lake Union - even though there were lots of people out, it wasn't nearly as busy as the other lake and so much more spread out that you didn't have to worry about running into anyone. The sun was hot but it felt great to glide around with our feet in the water for a few hours, taking in the quiet of the lake and the beautiful parks and houses on the shore. After our time was up, we brought back the kayaks then took a quick dip in the water to cool off before walking to the Magnuson Brewery for some outdoor {shaded} beers and tots {the ultimate combo}. It was such a fun morning and I'm so thankful for such a wonderful partner to go on all of these adventures with!
