Urban Hiking {U-District & Saint Bread}

A few weeks back we went on an urban hike around the city - setting out for some September sunshine and lunch in the U-District.  We walked down the hill through Fremont and along the Burke-Gilman, stopping under I5 to see a whole herd of goats cleaning up the overgrowth under the freeway {only in Seattle!}.  We made it to our first destination, Saint Bread, where we ordered iced coffees and the most delicious smoked salmon toast to enjoy outside on their patio.  After lunch, with a to-go cardamom bun in my bag for later, we continued on towards Montlake, crossing the bridge over the cut then making our way up the hill.  After checking out several different ways to get home, we decided to continue on through Eastlake and South Lake Union, then taking my most hated yet quickest way back up to Queen Anne, the Galer Street Stairs.  It was a fun new loop for us and I'm always happy to get to try a new and delicious restaurant along the way!
