Afternoon at the M's

Mom & Dad stayed over after the Steven Martin & Martin Short show so that we could all go to the Mariner game on Sunday as a belated birthday present for Mom.  We got tickets in the Terrace Club {I'm not sure C will ever sit anywhere else now} and while it was HOT in the sun, our tickets were luckily shady by the end of the 1st inning.  We picked a great game to go to, as Big Dumper got not one but TWO home runs, first tying then surpassing the record for most home runs by a catcher in the major leagues.  It was an electric atmosphere in the Park and a great day for an M's win!

A Night at the Mariners

Last week C and I took advantage of some tickets mom & dad couldn't use and headed down for an evening watching the Mariners.  It ended up being a gorgeous day with the sun shining and we didn't even need our sweatshirts until halfway through the game - a perfect September evening.  We arrived at the park a little early to grab some burgers for dinner and walk around the stadium, and since it was Bark at the Park night we got to watch countless cute dogs on the big screen throughout the game.  Unfortunately the M's couldn't hold on for a win, but we had a good time with an exciting game until the very end and a smaller crowd for a weeknight so we didn't feel too crammed in.  Despite the loss, it was a great night!

Arizona {Spring Training}

Lucky for us, our trip to AZ landed right at the start of Spring Training so on Sunday we headed out to Peoria for the Mariner's first home game.  It had been about 15 years since I went to a spring training game and it was just as lowkey and warm as I remembered.  We arrived early so we could walk around and watch the players practice, then headed to our seats right behind home plate {and with all of the prospective players' families} to enjoy the game.  It was so fun to be right there in the action {and eavesdrop on all of the girlfriend and wife gossip} and I'm pretty sure I really confused Rick Rizzs when I kept waving at him and he'd wave back like he should know me:)  It was the perfect way to spend a day in the sunshine and got me excited for a win-filled season ahead!

Friday Night at the M’s

A few weeks ago Christian and I headed out to the M's game on a beautiful Friday afternoon.  We parked at the Market and walked down to the stadium, past the lines of Swifties buying merchandise before the weekend concerts. We got to the stadium a bit early and grabbed some beers before deciding on Hawaiian food from Marination for dinner. We sat through the entire game against Toronto {where it felt we were outnumbered in the stands} and watched the M’s pull off an exciting win against the BlueJays, a feat even better enjoyed after watch the smug Toronto fans have to go home with the loss. On our walk back to the car C suggested we stop at an old favorite, Zig Zag Cafe, for a celebratory cocktail and early birthday drink, to which I happily said yes. It was such a fun summer evening that I’m so glad we snuck in before the madness of wedding month began!
