Nordstrom Block Party

Saturday afternoon we decided to enjoy the gorgeous day by heading downtown to check out the Nordstrom Block Party in honor of the legendary Anniversary Sale.  Westlake Park was bustling with tons of people, live music, and lots of booths with chances to win freebies, and with free validated parking {which is clutch downtown} and volunteers handing out $15 gift cards to use at Nordstrom for just that day, it was the perfect time to check out the sale.  After wandering around outside we headed into the store and while I was pretty disappointed in the selections this year {or maybe I just finally don't need anything else besides some new underwear and pjs?}, it's fun to be out shopping at one of my favorite places and reminiscing about sales past {I wore these boots to death, still love this red pencil skirt, and I wore this watch every single day for a decade}.  While styles {and prices} change, I'll always have a soft spot for Nordstrom and am glad we headed down to spend an afternoon at the store.

Holiday Shopping

Happy Friday!  A few pics from last Friday when I took a day off to go holiday shopping with Mom and we spent the day wandering around UVillage & Queen Anne, then met up with Christian for a really yummy dinner at the new Purple Cafe in Fremont and a tour around the 'hood to look at Christmas lights.  We ended the night eating cookies and watching a cheesy Netflix Christmas movie {the best} and spent Saturday morning running a few more errands before it was time for her to head home.  It was a really fun weekend and I love this holiday tradition of ours!

Happy {all the things} Friday!

Happy Friday!  And Happy Birthday to Kelli!  And Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Day!! So many things to celebrate today, including this very happy flower on my front porch :)  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are enjoying summer as much as possible - I can't believe we're already to the middle of July!!  Time to get working on that To Do List asap :)  Cheers to the weekend {and to Kelli!}!

Feelin' Festive

We interrupt the Maui pictures to bring you the official start of the holiday season - the Nordstrom Holiday Shopping Party!  Last night Erika was my date to the event, and we spent the evening perusing the gifts and treats while sipping free champagne and searching for Santa.  While we didn't walk away with much, we did score a bunch of samples to take home and it was worth it just to spend the evening shopping with my bestie.  Thanks for being my date, Erika - now the holiday season can officially begin!

Letter Board

I've always loved seeing the cute Letterfolk boards on Pinterest and and Instagram, but at the steep price tag {the size I wanted was $125 - what??}, I couldn't justify buying one myself.  However, after searching Amazon I came across this one in grey for only $29.99 and free same day delivery and I couldn't pass it up as a fun accessory to change up depending on the season.  After spending Saturday morning painstakingly twisting off 650 individual letters, I finally came up with my first caption that I think captures me pretty perfectly.  Can you think of anything better?  Get ready to see a lot of these around here :)

Holiday Shopping

Last Thursday Christian came downtown to meet me for happy hour after work before we headed over to Nordstrom for their annual holiday shopping event.  It's one of my favorite nights of the holiday season - drinking champagne, nibbling on snacks, and shopping for gifts all while getting into the festive spirit.  I picked up a few treasures {and even a gift not for me!} while we wandered through my favorite store.  Halfway through, we stumbled upon Santa and patiently waited for a pic while a little girl told him what she wanted for Christmas :)  It was such a fun evening getting the holiday season started right!

Nordstrom Holiday Party

Last Thursday was one of my favorite events of the season - the annual Nordstrom Holiday Shopping Party!  Mom and I have been going to this event for so long that it's become one of our fun traditions {I get invited because I spend way too much there throughout the year- oops!}.  We always go out to dinner beforehand downtown {this time we were running late and ran into Il Fornaio for a yummy and festive quick bite} then we headed over to Nordy's where we were greeted with a glass of champagne and people everywhere.  We roamed around the store, picking up gifts for friends, family, and ourselves and this year we even ran into Santa himself!  It was a fun evening in the city crossing a few things off my Christmas list but mainly just a good excuse to spend an evening with my Mama.  It really got me in the holiday spirit :)

Selany

Friday night, after some wine and appetizers at her house, Nicole and I ventured out to support our friend Thig's latest venture, Selany Collection.  Thig is one of the most creative people I've ever met {which you'd never know from his office job} and to see him launching this small clothing collection was really exciting.  The party was to introduce the line, and to sip wine and mingle with a pretty hip crowd.  Right now, Selany consists of bags, hats, and the coziest sweatshirts ever, but he has big plans for it.  While I'm not able to drop $90 on a sweatshirt right now, I was incredibly tempted after wearing Nicole's around all evening.  It seriously is the perfect fit {the sizing is unisex} and so incredibly cozy.  Maybe they'll have a sale??  Anyway, it was a pretty fun night hanging with a new crowd and supporting a good friend.  And it made me feel just a little bit cooler :)
