Restaurant Homer

One of my favorite "traditions" we've started is that when Christian gets back from a work trip {and I've been watching Nina all week} he takes me out to dinner as a thank you/date night.  I've been wanting to try Restaurant Homer on Beacon Hill but have heard it's such a long wait to get in, so Saturday afternoon we decided to head up there right as they were opening, and at 4:50 there was already a pretty hefty line of people waiting to get in.  Luckily we were seated when they opened at 5 and started off our dinner with some yummy cocktails while we perused the delicious and fresh menu.  Everything we got {below} was insanely delicious - one of my favorite meals lately - but the smoked mussels were especially a highlight.  The restaurant was so good - if you can get in I'd highly recommend it - but the best part, as always, was getting to go out on a date with my sweetie :)

 {homemade pitas & labneh with dried tomatoes and mint}

 {smoked mussels with potatoes, charred shishitos, and pickled garlic}

 {house meatballs with yogurt & tomatillos}

{stewed local mushrooms with summer vegetables, cream, and rice baked in sourdough}

xoxo,
