Farewell Yellow Brick Road

Last month we went to see one of the greatest legends of all time in concert - Sir Elton John.  I've seen Elton several times live, but when he announced his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour was going to be his final ever, I knew I had to go see him one last time.  Elton John is one of my absolute favorites - I grew up listening to his music and dancing along - and this final tour did not disappoint at all.  He played all of his hits {the show lasted 3 hours!} and I alternated between trying to record some of my faves {Levon, Someone Saved My Life Tonight - see snippets below!} and just sitting and soaking up the live versions of these iconic songs.  He had some great stories in between songs while the screen behind him showed great montages of his past 50 years {!} on tour, and he left us with the simple message of "let's be a little nicer to each other". It was such a privilege to be there for his last show in these parts and to introduce Christian to his first Elton show - something I know we'll both remember for a very long time.
