Out of Office

We’re off for {almost} a week to celebrate the wedding of my dear cousin and to have a fun vacation along the way {thanks to my new job for letting me take time off 4 days after I started!}. I’m excited to get out of town for a bit to find some {very} hot weather and spend time with some of my favorite people. Cheers y’all - can’t wait to catch you up when we get back!

Day Trip to Wenatchee {Part II}

After naps we got ready and headed to downtown Wenatchee to stop in a few shops before dinner - sweet little Jack even offered to hold my hand as we walked around town :) For dinner we headed to the Wenatchee Valley Brewing Co for some outdoor pizza with beers for the adults and a playground for the kids {though Jack was a little shy once the big kids got there to play}.  I got to spend some quality snuggle time with Henry who was the calmest, chillest baby and when Jack got a little jealous of the Henry & Auntie Tephie time, he hopped right up for some snuggles of his own.  After dinner we headed back to the house so I could get my car and Jack, not wanting to say goodbye, tried all the tricks in the book to get me to stay {and man, I wanted to!}.  It was a way too short but awesome trip and I can't wait to get back out there again soon!

Day Trip to Wenatchee {Part I}

The best thing I did during my week off was head over to Wenatchee to spend the day with my two favorite little guys {and their parents, of course}.  I headed out bright and early for a gorgeous drive over the pass and when I pulled into the driveway was greeted by little Jack running into my arms and giving me the biggest hug.  After gobbling up a muffin I had made him the night before, we proceeded to spend the morning swinging, going on a "bear hunt", shoveling, playing with dump trucks, cooking, and lots of laughing.  After he went down for a nap I got to spend a little time with baby Henry before brother and I took Ruby to Home Depot for a field trip while the boys slept.  I love watching their little personalities grow and we had the best morning, followed by a wonderful evening which I'll share tomorrow!

Happy {Staycation} Friday

Happy Friday!  I've had the entire week off and besides a quick trip east {which I'll tell you about next week} it's been super low-key and relaxing which is exactly what I needed.  I had hoped to do a few more things out and about but with Covid surging again and getting ready for a vacation in a week, laying low at home catching up on shows, sleeping in, making yummy food, getting in long workouts, and crossing stuff off my to-do list ended up being just fine with me.  While I'm not sure I'm ready to let my staycation go quite yet, I'm excited for a new chapter of work, a new adventure to a new city, and finally some sunny warm weather.  Fingers crossed that good days are ahead!

Goodbye Happy Hour {Skal}

Here are a few more photos of my goodbye happy hour last week at Skal in Ballard. We drank beer and aquavit, shared some delicious food, and barely chatted about work as we got to know each other outside of our virtual offices {one I had never met in person and a few I’d only met a handful of times!}.  It’s a pretty great group of ladies that I’m sad to leave but excited to keep in touch with and see what the future holds for them {and me}. Cheers…..errr, Skal!!
