Anniversary Kayaking

All summer we've been talking about going kayaking so for our anniversary we decided to make it happen.  Christian made us reservations at Northwest Outdoor Center for Sunday morning {tip - go early on a nice day to avoid crowds!} so we doused ourselves in sunscreen {the forecast was for almost 100 degrees!} and headed down to the lake.  Everything felt very safe with masks required and sanitized boats and equipment after each use and before we knew it we were out on the water, taking in the warm Seattle morning and gorgeous views all around us.  We headed out from Westlake down to South Lake Union, then around to Eastlake where we spied on all of the cool houseboats from up close {ultimate Seattle living}.  As noon hit, the lake became exponentially busier and we really had to psyche ourselves up to make the cross from Eastlake to Gasworks Park, dodging boats coming from all directions.  We continued on to Fremont and made it almost to the Fremont Bridge before deciding it was time to head back to the dock to avoid the crowds.  Being on the water was such a perfect way to spend the hottest day of the year and I loved checking something off of our list that we've been wanting to do for years now.  When can we do it again? :)

{unfortunately our camera cover was blurry on the selfie side so this is about the best we got}
