Dinner on the Boat & Neil Diamond

Friday night after we arrived in the valley and finished up some work we decided to head out to the Marina for a sunny evening on the water.  We picked up dinner to go at Fidalgo Drive In and took it to Dad's boat where we sat in the marina listening to the distant sounds of a Neil Diamond cover band playing tunes back on shore.  We sipped beers and ate yummy food all while soaking up the sun, then headed back to the main stage just in time for the grand finale of Sweet Caroline.  It was a fun and chill night on the water and the perfect start to the weekend.

Chelanigans {Part II}

Sunday morning we did something we haven't yet done on our yearly trips to Chelan - rent a boat.  We vowed last year that we would do it, and when we woke up to a gorgeous calm and clear day on the lake, we decided to go for it.  We packed up the cooler, put on our swimsuits, and headed down to the dock where we rented a pontoon boat for the 6 of us to cruise around in on the lake for about 3 hours.  It was a perfect day on the water, and with it being Sunday most everyone else was heading out of town so we seemed to have the lake to ourselves.  We cruised slowly, taking in the huge houses on the lake and enjoying the nice breeze off the water while listening to music and eating snacks.  Halfway thru the cruise, Shaun decided to make use of the tube we had rented and hopped in the lake, sipping a beer and being pulled along behind us.  After awhile, I decided to take a turn {above} and it was one of my most favorite parts of the weekend, floating in the lake drinking a beer on a warm and sunny day.  We were reluctant to bring the boat back {we all agreed it was so much fun} and I can't wait until the next time we can get back out on the water.  We couldn't have asked for a better day :)

Holden's Birthday Cruise

Happy Birthday Holden!  On Saturday, Lisa rounded up some good friends for a surprise birthday sail on The Seeker, a chartered yacht from Fisherman's Terminal around Lake Union and Lake Washington.  The 4 hour tour included Paseo sandwiches accompanied with beer, wine, and sangria, and the only rules were that we were headed to Havana so dress appropriately :)  Everyone showed up in their flowery, Hawaiian shirt best and we even managed to surprise the birthday boy who thought he was spending a kid free afternoon with his wife :)  The boat was amazing and the weather absolutely perfect for sailing around and checking out the huge houses on the lake.  Christian and I joked that we were shocked we were actually invited as we sat on the deck taking pics and soaking in the sun, but I was not about to miss out on a free sunny afternoon on the deck of a boat.  It was fun to catch up with a few of the guys I only see about once a year, and when the boat finally docked at 5PM I was not ready to leave.  Thanks for inviting us Lisa - such a fabulous day!
