Showering Hadley

Sunday afternoon Mom, Mary, and I threw a bridal shower for cousin Hadley at the farm.  Mom & I decorated everything in a cute lemon theme and once everyone arrived we had a very chill shower opening presents and eating yummy desserts.  It was a fun way to celebrate the soon to be Mrs. and I'm glad I got to spend the afternoon with all of the ladies in the family!

Memorial Day Weekend {Part I}

We spent most of Memorial Day weekend up north which was a perfect mix of relaxing and fun. After sitting in a lot of traffic on Saturday morning we made it just in time for me to head to a bridal shower for Emma with lots of family, spending the afternoon getting excited for her upcoming wedding. Afterwards we headed back to the parents to build a fire table, check out the new greenhouse, eat a yummy dinner, and drink wine around the fire. The day was unexpectedly summer-like and it was the perfect way to celebrate the unofficial start to summer.

Saturday in the Valley

Saturday morning we woke up to a beautiful but foggy morning, so had a nice leisurely breakfast and coffee at the farm.  We headed to C's favorite place {Costco} and spent way too much money, then came back to soak up a bit of the sunshine on the deck.  Afterwards we were hungry so we headed out to Edison to try out Mariposa Taqueria which has become such a tourist destination for people from the city {and has the prices to show it}.  We had a yummy lunch outside, then headed over to The Bread Farm to grab a loaf to take home.  We stopped back at the farm to say hello to the cows, then made our way back to the city where we snuggled up with some pastries we snagged {sorry to the multiple bakeries we went to, but they just don't compare to our Seattle pastry scene}.  It was an excellent few days spent out of the city!

A Day in Bellingham

We took Friday off to drive up to Bellingham and get our taxes done, but after our early appointment we had the whole day to wander around and enjoy the spring-like temperatures.  We stopped into a record store where we made friends with a fluffy cat, then headed over to Storia Cucina for a yummy pizza lunch {paired with some post-taxes beverages}.  Afterwards we made a quick stop in to say hi to Suze and Rob before heading down to the Valley via Chuckanut Drive where we stopped off to sit in the sun for a bit and take in the views.  We stopped to chat with Grandma for a bit, then headed back to the parents house for the night where we ate our favorite tacos, shared a slice of cake from our wedding bakery, and watched all 3 episodes of a new Netflix documentary, the perfect way to end a lovely day.
