Happy Friday!

It has been a week and the only thing getting me through is the thought of a long weekend ahead and this pint of blackberry ice cream we picked up from Molly Moon’s the other day that is maybe the best ice cream ever. Cheers to the long weekend, friends - we deserve it!

The Pastry Project

Before the Mariner game a few weeks back we stopped at The Pastry Project in Pioneer Square, a little walk up window selling soft serve ice cream with beautiful toppings.  The Pastry Project is run by two women who provide free baking and pastry training programs to individuals with barriers in their industry.  A good deed and ice cream?  Yes please!  Christian and I each ordered the purple vanilla ice cream and I topped mine with a butterscotch dip and sprinkles {cuz, duh}.  The ice cream was so delicious and decadent and the perfect walking snack on our way to the stadium.  If you're in the neighborhood {they're only open until August 27th and just Friday-Sunday} make sure to stop by and grab yourself a sweet treat!

Happy Ice Cream Friday!

Happy Friday!  Last night we took a walk after dinner up to Molly Moon's so I could try their seasonal Blackberry flavor {spoiler - it was amazing and I'll be going back this weekend for more}.  Ice cream after dinner on a sunny evening with the temps expected in the high 70's this weekend {yay!} make me so excited that summer is just around the corner.  Let's all sneak out a little early today and enjoy that summer-like weather, shall we?  Have a great one!

Birthday Ice Cream

Happy Birthday weekend to me!  I had a wonderful weekend with some of my most favorite people that I can't wait to share with you, but the celebrations actually began last Thursday doing something I've been wanting to do all summer, walk to after-dinner ice cream at Molly Moon's.  We live so close to this Seattle staple and rarely stop by, but with the temps reaching the mid-90's towards the end of last week it was the perfect time to stop by on our daily sunset walk.  Luckily we hit the shop during a slow few minutes and didn't have to wait too long, and the delicious monthly specials we had {cherry chunk and blueberry pie} totally hit the spot.  Let's hope this isn't our last stop there this summer!

Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream

Last night I stopped by the Molly Moon's Ice Cream shop in Wallingford for a scoop of my favorite (strawberry balsamic) and to pick up the new cookbook, Molly Moon's Homemade Ice Cream.  I had read that Molly herself was going to be there signing copies of the book, so I made sure to get there early to avoid a scene like a few weeks ago at the PW signing.  Luckily, that didn't happen.  There were only a few people in the shop (a rarity for a semi-sunny day in Seattle) and I walked right up to the counter to get my ice cream, then right over to Molly to have her sign my book.  She was extremely sweet and had I not felt like such a dork, I would've stayed and chatted her up a bit longer :)  I can't wait to try the fun and inventive flavors for summer (raspberry mint sorbet, anyone?) and the book has already found a happy home on a shelf with my rapidly expanding cookbook collection.
