The Best Reunion

The best thing that happened this weekend was that I finally got to see Susannah, Erika, and Merith IN PERSON after probably 2 years {we couldn't actually remember when the last time we all got together was!}!  With everything going on in the world {#pandemiclife} it took a long time to get this get together on the books, but we finally made it happen this weekend at an outdoor distanced meet up at my house.  While it wasn't quite as epic as our slumber parties of the past, it felt so wonderful to sit outside and drink cans of wine with these ladies who have been such a source of happiness, camaraderie, and support throughout these last 18+ months.  They stayed for 4+ hours and we still only got through about 1/5 of our "to talk about" list and even though it felt weird not giving big hugs goodbye, we now know that we've figured out an easy and safe way to see each other and can make it feel almost like old times, so we're definitely doing it again very soon.  I, for one, cannot wait :)

Four

Cheers to four wonderful years with this handsome guy!  Christian - it's been a year full of ups and downs but the brightest spot has been spending it with you.  You're my rock, my voice of reason, and my comic relief and I'm so grateful that we finally met up for that dinner four years ago.  Though this year's celebration looks a little different {since we're about 5,000 miles apart!} I'll still be toasting to us and all of the fabulous adventures we have to look forward to.  Cheers to you my love - there's no one I'd rather laugh with than you :)

Bottlehouse Birthday

Happy Friday!  Here are a few pics from my birthday dinner with David last week at Bottlehouse, the cutest little wine bar in Madrona that I had not been to in many years but recently had been craving.  They have a great patio for outdoor dining and we ordered lots of meats, cheeses, and snackies to accompany our delicious glasses of wine.  It really is one of the best little spots {if you don't mind driving all the way across the city} and I'm so happy that we made the trek!  Cheers to wine bars and besties and the weekend!  Stay cool out there!

Jack at the Beach

Sunday morning after hanging out at the house and letting Ruby and Rex wear each other out we all headed out to the beach to play on the mudflats.  I'm not sure who had more fun, Ruby running around with 4 other dogs and getting as muddy as can be or Jack throwing rocks and searching for baby crabs, but an excellent time was had by all.  After hosing everyone down, Jack and I took turns pushing great grandpa around which Jack thought was so much fun, then it was time to say goodbye even though no one wanted them to leave, including Jack himself.  I'm so happy we got to spend the weekend together and I'm even more thrilled that he has finally figured out who his "Aunt Tephie" is and is constantly asking about me if I'm not right in his line of sight.  That little boy melts my heart and I cannot wait to see him again very soon!

Ruby, Rainbows, & Jack

Saturday afternoon I headed up north to meet up with my favorite crew from east of the mountains.  I got to my parents just about the same time as Shaun, Sara, Jack, and Ruby and we instantly headed outside to play around in the yard, where Jack found a sitting area that was perfectly sized for him {and insisted that I join him}.  We then headed out to the beach for a quick visit with great grandma and grandpa, where Jack had the best time playing with great grandpa and snuggling with Auntie {me}.  After we got back to the farm it was time for books and snuggles before Jack's bedtime, then the adults {plus Ruby} enjoyed a delicious dinner with some background music from the wedding across the street {that in my opinion was pretty epic}.  After a downpouring of rain the most beautiful double rainbow covered the valley so we had to go outside for a few pics and more dancing, of course :)  It was a great day with the fam and I savored every little snuggle I got {from both Jack and Ruby}.
