Friday Night at the M’s

A few weeks ago Christian and I headed out to the M's game on a beautiful Friday afternoon.  We parked at the Market and walked down to the stadium, past the lines of Swifties buying merchandise before the weekend concerts. We got to the stadium a bit early and grabbed some beers before deciding on Hawaiian food from Marination for dinner. We sat through the entire game against Toronto {where it felt we were outnumbered in the stands} and watched the M’s pull off an exciting win against the BlueJays, a feat even better enjoyed after watch the smug Toronto fans have to go home with the loss. On our walk back to the car C suggested we stop at an old favorite, Zig Zag Cafe, for a celebratory cocktail and early birthday drink, to which I happily said yes. It was such a fun summer evening that I’m so glad we snuck in before the madness of wedding month began!

A Quiet Birthday

I was so excited to celebrate my birthday this year with a fun night out with my honey and spending the day relaxing and eating some of my favorite things.  Well, the relaxing part definitely happened because I woke up with what I knew was coming for several days prior - a nasty head cold.  I haven't been sick in years so it hit me especially hard, making me use an actual sick day from work and spending the day alternating from the couch to the bed to the roof to try to sweat it out.  While we didn't get to go out and do all of the fun things I wanted, Christian still made the day feel special with a gorgeous gift I've been eyeing for awhile, delicious takeout from down the hill, and an Aperol Spritz to try to kill all the germs {it didn't work but it still tasted yummy}.  While I'm still trying to fight off this nasty cold, I'm looking forward to a birthday redo in the near future {and thanking my lucky stars that I'm sick this week and not for the wedding that is rapidly approaching}.  Here's to getting healthy!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Happy Birthday to me! We celebrated early yesterday with some pre-birthday ice cream and I’m excited for a very low key day today of relaxing and doing a lot of nothing. That’s what birthdays are all about, right? Cheers to the last year of my 30’s - I think it’s gonna be a good one! :)
