Remember about a year and a half ago when I planned the Best Night Ever for David? Well, for the past year and a half I've been bugging him that it's his turn to plan, and this past Friday he came through. This round of Best Night Ever sure blew mine out of the water, but I guess that just means the next one will be even better! This time around, David wrote actual clues for me to guess where we were going {it definitely took me several clues before I started guessing correctly} and they took us on an adventure around The Waterfront, Pioneer Square, the U District, Fremont, North Lake Union, and Ballard. The theme was "The World is Your Oyster" and, as you can guess, a lot of oysters were consumed that night. We crossed 3 restaurants off my list of places I've really wanted to try, and I seriously could not wipe the smile off my face all night. It was a pretty epic evening {dare I say, the best?}, and there is no one else I'd rather gallivant around the city with than David :) Here's a look at our awesome adventure:
"if you want to be a professional pony-better, you're gonna have to get on a horse!" {waterfront carousel}
"sigh! you're in for a real treat" {oysters and wine at bar sajor}
"it may not be a magic carpet ride, but you can still close your eyes if it's better" {a ride on the great wheel}
"i'll be frank - it'd be real shellfish of me to not take you here" {fried oysters and wne at Frank's Oyster House and Champagne Parlor}
{though not technically a clue, we decided to fill up on Blue Moon Burgers in between oyster stops at one of my favorite places on Lake Union}
"two fishers went sailing away to the west, away to the west as the sun went down" {oysters and cocktails at westward}
"back to where it all began....can you deal?" {pool and beers at the 4B's - the ending spot of our last BNE}
Thanks again David - it truly was the Best Night Ever!
xoxo,
stephanie marie
