Sweden {West Coast Part I}

Wednesday was one of my most favorite days of the trip, as we spent the day out on the west coast of Sweden visiting small beach towns and Christian's family.  We started out in Arild, a tiny town on the coast with windy roads lined with unique, beautiful, very old homes.  We got out and walked along the rocky beach and through the small town, taking in the quirky houses and beautiful coastal breeze (it ended up being in the 80's that day!).  Our next stop was in Nyhamnsläge where Anders' cousin Thomas and his wife Leis graciously hosted us for an epic day of eating and drinking.  We started with champagne and appetizers on the patio in their gorgeous garden {and met Christian's cousin Ebba who stopped by to say hello} then moved into the dining room for a more formal lunch and more wine {where his other cousin Philip joined us}.  We then retired to the patio again for coffee and Princess cake and the men wandered the garden while the women sat and chatted.  Though it may not have seemed this way to them {as they had just downgraded from a huge place in a neighboring town} I thought the house to be so special and beautifully designed, from the modern art on the walls to the antique furniture filling the rooms.  Thomas and Leis were so wonderfully generous to us {especially since our visit was very last minute} and sitting and talking with them was one of my most favorite parts of our two weeks in Europe :)
