Monsoon Date Night

Friday night C took me out to dinner to celebrate my last day of work for quite awhile. After trying to pick between several places we decided to go to a tried and true favorite, Monsoon. Sometimes I wonder if I build it up too much in my head, but then I go there and am reminded just how delicious and unique it really is. We got all our faves, including the catfish, crispy imperial rolls, and drunken chicken, and it was the perfect way to celebrate a big milestone.

Weekend Work

After what felt like forever, Mom & Dad are finally back from AZ so of course we instantly put them to work helping us organize the house.  They came down Sunday and spent the gorgeous day having lunch at Maggie Bluffs, picking up a glider for the nursery from Erika & Joe, and hauling out a bunch of furniture that no longer will fit in our house.  I appreciate the help so much {and am so glad we got a beautiful day to do it before baby makes it's debut} and now we're ready to start decorating and nesting.  Thanks again to the best parents in the world!

Valentine's Day

For Valentine's Day this year we spent most of the time running errands then spent the evening with takeout and relaxing, which was exactly perfect.  It started off splitting a pastry I had picked up the day before, then we drove up to Lynnwood to check out some fun jewelry for me and C's favorite {Costco} for him.  When we came home we tested out the car seat  then got some pizza from Zeeks that we enjoyed while watching our favorite shows.  Sounds like the perfect way to say "I Love You!" :)

Date Night {Bar Del Corso}

After taking a class on First Hill Saturday afternoon we decided to take advantage of being halfway to Beacon Hill and go to dinner at one of our faves, Bar Del Corso.  We got there the minute they were opening and snagged the first table of the evening since we didn't have reservations.  We started with an arugula and frisee salad with baby beets and oranges, then shared two pizzas {the Funghi and the special which had Ricotta, Calabrian Chilies, and Coppa which we both agreed was our fave} along with some refreshing drinks.  It was so fun to get to sneak away to one of our fave spots {that always feels so far away whenever we really are craving it} and I always love an impromptu date night with my love:)

Date Night {Delancey}

After a long Saturday of sitting in a classroom, we decided to head out for an early dinner date night at Delancey.  It's been awhile since we've been to this old favorite and on a chilly day nothing sounded better than some wood-fired pizza.  We split the Jersey salad, the white pie, and a half & half of sausage and bacon & onion, and while it hit the spot, I could tell with each bite that we were both wishing it was Bar Del Corso or Lupo, two of our newest fave pizza spots.  Delancey will always hold a special place in my heart {and is still one of the cutest little neighborhood spots around}, but I think next time we'll venture elsewhere for a yummy pizza date night.

New Years Eve

We had a pretty quiet New Years Eve at home, which is exactly how I like it. After running some errands during the day we went for a nice foggy walk to the park, then headed home to make one of my faves, Barefoot Contessa’s Weeknight Bolognese. After dinner we did a little bump photo shoot and watched some shows, then C went to bed early and I spent the rest of the evening catching up with my Housewives before watching about 10 seconds of the foggy fireworks from the Space Needle on tv. It was a lovely night in and a great way to start what I know will be an amazing year :)
