Drizzle Walk

Saturday afternoon Christian and I headed out for a little walk and of course it immediately started raining the moment we stepped out of the house.  We didn't let that stop us from going along our usual route up to the park and even though it was wet, it felt really nice to get out of the house and soak up some fresh, spring air {though I'm ready for some warm weather any day now!}.  And a bonus?  I love walking around when the city is quiet and everyone is inside, like we have the whole place to ourselves :)

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!  Of course now that we're finally feeling better the weather has turned rainy again, but I'm hoping the sun makes a few appearances over the weekend - we deserve it!  I'm excited to spend some time with old friends this weekend celebrating fun birthdays and getting out of the house for a bit.  Yay for the weekend!

Showering Kelsey

This past weekend we got together with family and friends at the farm house to host a baby shower for my cousin Kelsey.  Mom had everything decorated so cute for Baby Boy, including a garland of onesies for the mama-to-be to take home, a children's book to serve as the guestbook, and fun, lowkey games for everyone to play.  I contributed some yummy salads to the mix and everyone spent the afternoon catching up, eating, and watching Kelsey open the cutest gifts {that were all on their way to her home in LA}.  I cannot wait to meet the little one who's arriving in just a few short months and I'm so happy we got to host this special day for my little cousin!

Rooftop Brews & Smash Burgers

Sunday afternoon after running lots of errands around town we were hungry for a late lunch/early dinner so I suggested we head down to Rooftop Brewing for some yummy beers and some of the best burgers in the city at the Smash That truck that parks outside of the brewery several days a week.  While the sun went behind the clouds just as we were grabbing a seat outside, we still managed to enjoy our treats on the patio while bundled up on the chilly spring day.  Rooftop has some excellent beers and I'm a huge fan of the Oklahoma Smash burger from the truck which is pretty much the perfect blend of beef, special sauce, and American cheese.  I always forget this place is just down the hill from us and it's a perfect spot to grab a quick meal and a beer that you know will will hit the spot!

Lilac Season

It’s my favorite time of year - lilac season! It feels like overnight the lilacs have exploded all over the neighborhood and I couldn’t be happier. The other night on an evening walk C picked this one for me from the neighbors and the sight of it in our kitchen makes me so happy - I’ll be savoring these blooms as long as I can!

Jim Gaffigan

Last week C and I headed downtown to see Jim Gaffigan at The Paramount.  I've always loved his witty, semi-clean humor {I've seen him several times, including this one over 10 years ago} and last week's show did not disappoint.  He had the entire crowd laughing the entire hour-plus set talking about everything from religion to parenthood in such a relatable and hilarious way, and even though we weren't sure we were going to make it to the show I'm glad we found the energy and made it out.  I love a fun date night with my honey!
