DIY {Furry Stool}
I've been seeing these Furry Stools everywhere online and I absolutely love them {if you've been to my house, you know it just fits} but whenever I try to buy one, they're either sold out or incredibly expensive {several hundred dollars for a furry foot stool? no thanks}. A few months back I was perusing one of my favorite DIY blogs, A Beautiful Mess, and came across the instructions to make a Furry Stool with Gold Legs on your own. It looked simple enough, so I decided I had nothing to lose. I gathered materials from all different places - legs from Amazon, top plates from Lowes, a round wood top courtesy of Dad's wood shop, and some furry fabric from JoAnn's. I decided to first prime the table legs before I spray painted them with some leftover primer I had, then used my favorite gold spray paint {outside of course} to apply a quick layer of gold to the legs. I let them sit for several days until they were nice and dry {not necessary, but I kind of forgot about this little project :)}, then followed the instructions on the website to put the rest of the stool together in less than 30 minutes. I used a foam padding under the furry fabric to make it a little more comfortable for sitting, but other than that I followed the instructions just as they were. While I haven't found the perfect spot for the stool just yet, it makes me so happy to come into the living room and see it sitting there with it's little Einstein-like wig on top. It's incredibly soft, and perfect for putting my feet up after a long day or for an extra seat for guests. I absolutely love it :)

Showering Maddie
A few weekends ago, us girls got together to shower Maddie before she becomes the Future Mrs. Bach. We set out a little brunch buffet for the gals, complete with yogurt parfaits, mini donuts, mimosas, and bagels with all the toppings. We had a big crowd, and I think Mads had a good time hanging with her nearest and dearest while playing games, opening presents, and talking all things wedding. I can't wait to celebrate with her over the next few months - such an exciting time!!

Lazy Weekend
How was your weekend? After heading home from work early on Friday feeling sicky, I spent the rest of the weekend resting and trying to feel better, which included a delivery of pho, lots of couch time, and catching up on the DVR. However, when the sun popped out on Saturday all morning and afternoon, I couldn't help but head outside and pull a few weeds that had been popping up {hello, spring!}. It felt good to be out in the sunshine, and made me so excited for spring to officially be here in just a few weeks!

Sick Day
So technically I'm not that sick, but I do have a case of the sniffles and a head that may blow up at any second, so I'm pretty stoked to have no plans this weekend but get feeling better {and keep being awesome}. I've managed to not be sick for over a year, so I guess it's my turn again. Here's wishing everyone a happy and healthy weekend!

Hoops
I headed out to the UW-WSU basketball game last night, and it was a blast! Having tickets 8 rows back definitely didn't hurt, and even though my Cougs lost in a pretty good battle and the walk back through campus was in the pouring down rain, it was fun watching the game and cheering on the teams in their last game of the regular season. It was also pretty cool to point out the local celebrities sitting all around us {it's been quite the week for fancy people!}. I love random weekday adventures :)

Bloomin'
I noticed on my walk home from the bus stop yesterday that the neighborhood is really feeling like spring! Flowers are popping up everywhere {even a tiny tulip in my yard that's sure to die before it's time} and the longer days are making me so excited for the official start of spring just a few weeks away!
Happy March!

Dream Gala
Saturday evening, Kelsey and I headed out to do our good deed for the year - volunteering at the JDRF 2016 Dream Gala - Spotlight on a Cure. I have some friends from Bar Method that work for JDRF {Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation} and they didn't have to ask me twice to help volunteer at their awesome black tie event to help cure Type 1 Diabetes. We dressed up in our finest and headed to the Sheraton, where we wandered around the lobby with all the super fancy guests trying to sell them $1000 bottles of wine and $100 raffle tickets. While we had a lot more success with the raffle tickets {shocking, I know}, it was fun just mingling with the local celebrities and seeing everyone dressed up in their fanciest before the show. While we left before the program started {we couldn't get ourselves those $500 tickets for a seat inside the ballroom}, I found out later that the event made $3 Million! I'd like to think we were a little responsible for that :) and I can't wait to help out again next year!
i thought this blue tiger in the auction donated by the seahawks would've looked great in my yard.....
