Drinks on the Links {Week 4}

Week 4 was 80's Night at Drinks on the Links, and our team did not disappoint.  With bright colors and nods to iconic 80's figures, we won a stack of spirit points from Meg, our fearless Underdog leader.  Unfortunately, most of us got a little distracted and forgot about our golf games.  I blame the lack of pants.  Next week is our last week, and it's going to take some super powers to catapult us back into the lead :)

Birthday in the Valley

For my dad's birthday, I was lured to the valley with promises of a home-cooked meal, yummy dessert, and quality family time.  I instantly said yes.  It was nice to get out of work a few hours early and spend some time relaxing at home with my parents and grandparents.  My mom made us delicious chicken enchiladas and the grandparents came over for strawberry shortcake and presents.  It was a great way to break up the week and spend time with the people I love.  And dad got to extend his birthday an extra day :)

Happy Birthday Dad!

I may be a tad bit biased, but I think I have the best dad in the world.  He's taught me more than I can say, including how to get off a ski lift, how to sink a ten-footer, how to speak in public, how to drive a stick, and how to get through 3 long seasons of cross country pretending you're a runner.  My dad is the funniest, most thoughtful guy I know, and he has the most infectious laugh.  Dad - I love you very much.  Happy Birthday!!

Sunny Shower

The wedding season is now upon us, and it's out in full force.  This past weekend, we celebrated the soon-to-be Mrs. Helling.  The setting was gorgeous, with Mt. Rainier in the background and the sun shining brighter than it has all year.  We enjoyed mimosas and quiche, cuddling with tiny dogs, and watching Autumn open present after present (ahh...registering) and we all left with muffin mix and sun burns.  It was a great way to spend time with friends and enjoy the sunshine by the water.

Here's to a wedding-filled summer!

Tutta Bella

I started off the most gorgeous weekend of the year (so far) with coworkers at Tutta Bella happy hour.  They have a great outdoor deck looking out at the Space Needle and after a long day at work, we were excited to have a glass of wine and some yummy pizzas.  I've been to this restaurant countless times and it never ceases to impress.  The pizza is authentic, and the side salads are so delicious.  It was the perfect way to start the sunny and warm Seattle weekend.

Drinks on the Links {Week 3}

With one man down and the clouds rolling in, DOTL Week 3 looked to be a disaster waiting to happen.  But when my dear friend Holden stepped up to replace Bill for the night and the sun peeked out from behind the clouds, I knew it was going to be a great match.  Dressed in our finest (and most mis-matched) plaid, our team was poised to take back the league lead - at least in fashion points.  And when Yours Truly got her first Hole-in-One (yay!), I knew the night was a success.  Way to go, Team.  We'll see you next week for 80's Night :)

Bye Bye Kimber

Last night, the girls went out to The Pink Door to say goodbye to Kimber.  She's heading off to San Francisco, on to bigger and better things.  I'm so excited for her and proud she's taking this big leap, but also extremely sad.  My most favorite memories from the past year have been with her - from gettin' the heck out of town for New Years Eve, to breaking a piñata for Valentine's Day, and our biggest adventure yet - Iceland.  Though I know we will have many more adventures in the future, I'm going to miss our late night chats and her hilarious jokes (blonde pony anyone?) that I can never seem to pull off quite as well.  I'll even miss her creepy dancing.  Kimber - I couldn't have done 2011 without you.  I am going to miss you so so much.  But get ready - I'm coming to visit :)
