Happy 30th Suze!

Happiest of Birthdays to Miss Susannah Nellie Bea!  Susy, you are one of the kindest, funniest, most genuine people I know and I am so lucky to call you one of my bestest friends.  Though I wish we lived closer, I treasure the time we get to spend together and the awesome memories we continue to make.  I wish I could be there to give you a big birthday hug, but know that I am thinking about you and wishing you the very best for the upcoming year - you deserve nothing less :)

Happy {Brrrrrr} Weekend

This picture is about how it feels around here these days, and I cannot wait for some warmer weather.  Since it's most likely not coming for awhile, I guess I'll just cozy up with some tea and lots of blankets and catch up on my To Do list.  Sounds like a lovely way to spend a cold day, right? :)

Superbowl Friday

We'll just call this Seahawks week on the blog, alright? :)  Last Friday, I was part of the "fun" committee to help plan a Blue Friday party at work to celebrate the Seahawks going to the Superbowl.  With less than a week to plan, we settled on Costco sheet cakes {those babies are delicious} and other snacks to feed the more than 150 people that showed up, and we decorated the room in blue and green - and about a hundred 12's.  The event was a huge success {almost everyone was dressed in Seahawk gear}, and it ended with a raffle of prizes donated to our staff.  It was such a fun way to spend a few hours celebrating the Hawks and the Superbowl:)

Dip-A-Palooza X

This year was the 10th Annual Dip-A-Palooza {and my 7th year in a row!}.  The quality of dips this year was pretty spectacular, but they were overshadowed by that amazing game {who won again? :)}.  I had some favorites {Erika's and Holden's were both top on my list, along with a newcomers 'Beast Feast' for creativity} but JJ's wife Liz ended up taking home the trophy this year with a dessert dip {how do these keep winning?!?!}.  It was befitting that the 10th Anniversary of DAP was celebrated not only with an extra long halftime presentation {including the top 10 people in DAP history} but with an epic Seahawks win at that.  Yes, I've been going to this for the past 7 years, but this is the first year I really cared about the outcome and focused more on the game than the eating.  With a comfy couch seat, a plate of dips, and a cold 12th Man brew in hand, it was an awesome DAP that I won't soon forget :)

Why Not Us?

Superbowl Champs!!!!!!!  Words cannot describe how awesome it feels that the Hawks are coming back to Seattle champions!  From the very first play to the very last, there was never any doubt that this was our time.  The energy right now in Seattle is amazing - driving home last night you could hear cars honking, people cheering, fireworks going off....everyone is just so so happy!  I can't stop smiling, laughing, and spontaneously cheering {yes, in my house, by myself} - this really is one of the greatest days.  Sorry Peyton - I love you, but I will always love my Hawks more :)

Go Hawks!!!!!!!!!!!!  I can't wait for Wednesday!!!

{Superbowl} Blue Friday

The countdown has begun.  The Seahawks are only days away from the Superbowl and the biggest game of their lives.  Words can't express how excited/nervous/anxious/freakin' stoked I am to watch the game.  The whole city is abuzz with 12th Man fever and I doubt that anyone will be wearing anything other than blue and green for the rest of the weekend.  I'll be partaking in my annual tradition on Sunday, but I have a feeling a little more attention will be paid to the game this year :)

GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The 12th Man is behind you all the way:)
