Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday {tomorrow} to the funniest, sweetest, most helpful and loving dad around!  Dad - thank you so much for always being there for a long rambling phone call, for dropping everything to come help out, for your dumb dad jokes, and most importantly, for turning off your cell phone before walking me down the aisle {see above}.  You're the best and I'm so lucky you're my dad!  Cheers to you!

Billy Joel

A few weeks back Christian and I headed down to T-Mobile Park to watch one of my absolute favorites, Billy Joel. I've been to several of his shows over the years {including an epic piano showdown with Elton John} and I knew that Christian would love it just as much as I would.  As expected, the Piano Man played hit after hit of some of his greatest songs {including my absolute favorite, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant} and had lots of stories, commentary, and snark in between hits.  This man is an absolute legend and I'm so happy I got to share one of my greatest music loves with my honey.

RockCreek Happy Hour

I've been craving oysters and since we're getting into that time where they aren't all that safe to eat {they say you should only eat oysters in months that have an "r"} we decided to make Sunday night a date night and head to RockCreek for happy hour.  We got there right when they opened at 4pm {happy hour is only offered in their small bar area} and immediately ordered some yummy cocktails to get things started.  Everything on the menu looked delicious so we got one of almost everything {including a dozen happy hour oysters} and plate after plate were soooooo good that it's hard to pick what was my favorite.  We could've kept ordering but since it was rainy and yucky outside we decided to head home and cozy up for the rest of the evening.  I love a spontaneous date night and even better when the food is delicious and the company even better :)

Elliott Bay Beers

Friday afternoon after a long week at work we decided to get out and enjoy the sunshine, not knowing if it would stay around for the weekend {it didn't}.  We headed down to Maggie Bluff's to grab a beer on the patio, but when we found out the patio was full, the bartender said we could get a to-go beer to enjoy while we waited for a table basically anywhere in the marina {she likened the marina to a mini-Vegas}.  Since we weren't set on an actual table, we purchased those to-go beers and ended up walking down to the beach at the other end of the marina where we could sit on the rocks with only a few other people around and enjoy our beers with a beautiful view while soaking up the sunshine.  I loved that we didn't have to sit at the restaurant to enjoy our yummy drinks and I envision many more sunny afternoons down at the beach doing exactly this.
