We've known for awhile that for our 1 year anniversary we wanted to go back to where we had our first date, The Whale Wins. In retrospect, I'm so happy we picked such a fun and yummy place for our first date that we can go back to and have great memories - and great food :) We made reservations awhile ago and eerily were seated at the exact same table outside and had the same waitress as 1 year ago. We started the evening with drinks and a toast and quickly got to ordering some fresh and delicious food. Since it was a celebration, we couldn't pass up dessert, and the Eton Mess we ordered with homemade meringue and whipped cream was one of the best sweets I've had in quite awhile. It was so fun to sit at dinner and reminisce on our favorite parts of the past year and what's up next for us in year 2 - if year 1 was any indication, year 2 is going to be pretty awesome!
