Maui {Day 6}

Wednesday was the best day, as it was my sweetie's birthday!  We spent the morning walking down the street from the condo getting breakfast burritos and laying out by the beach, then headed out for a fun afternoon/evening on the north shore.  We spent the afternoon walking around the cutest town of Paia, going in all the shops and picking up a few fun souvenirs to take home with us.  We headed up the road a little farther, as I had heard of a great place to watch waves and take in the views, and the guidebooks were so right about Ho'okipa Lookout, where we hiked along the rocks, watched amazing surfers brave the gigantic waves, and saw a slew of turtles just chillin' on the sand.  After a bit of wandering around, we decided to head down to our final birthday destination, Mama's Fish House, where we spent an hour or so taking in the gorgeous landscape, taking pictures, and Facetiming with family.  The restaurant had come highly recommended, and thanks to a bday gift card from my parents, it was a little more affordable to take Christian there for his birthday dinner :)  When it was finally time for our reservation, we were seated in the open air restaurant surrounded by fellow diners celebrating special occasions and enjoying the delicious food.  Since we figured we were only there once we decided to go all out, getting two appetizers and two entrees to share between the two of us, and paired with the best Mai Tai's of the trip and a few complimentary appetizers and desserts, it was an absolutely perfect way to celebrate C's birthday.  I'm often hesitant of super expensive places, but the gorgeous grounds, friendly service, laidback attitude, and insanely delicious and fresh food {the menu even tells you the person that caught your fish that day!}, it was definitely top 5 dining experiences ever.  If you're on Maui I'd highly recommend making a stop at Mama's - you won't be disappointed.  And happy birthday, my love - I'm so happy we got to celebrate you!
