Happy 5th Birthday Abby!

How To Cook A Wolf

No, this is not a weird "how to" :)  For David's birthday last week, I decided to take him to what could possibly be my most favorite restaurant in Seattle (ok - it's tied with this one).  David had never been to How To Cook A Wolf (despite having lived only several blocks away for over a year) and it was the perfect start to our date night.  Like almost all of Ethan Stowell's restaurants it's an "order to share" type of place, so after grabbing some beverages, we got to work drooling over everything on the menu.  We started with roasted golden beets with ricotta, almonds, endive, and red onion, and bruschetta with smoked mackerel, red onion, and aged balsamic.  Both were so flavorful and delicious that I could literally eat them every night and be happy.  For our pasta dish, we shared the orecchiette with pancetta, peas, cherry tomatoes, and ricotta, and unfortunately we had to leave or else I'm pretty sure we could've done some major damage to the dessert menu.  We ended the evening with a fabulous performance of the PNB's Swan Lake, which made me think that we probably need to get season tickets soon :)  It was such a fun and memorable night that I can't wait to replicate again and again!

Baby Dahl Shower

Saturday afternoon, we headed up north to celebrate the impending arrival of the newest addition to our high school group - Baby Dahl!  Sarah looked so happy and relaxed, and we showered her with gifts while eating yummy food, playing with the cutest babies, and brushing up on our children's book trivia.  It was so much fun (and a bit surreal) to see Sarah and her big belly, and I can't wait to meet little Cameron in just two short months!

Happy Birthday, Smorris!  Now that we're work neighbors again, I can't wait to get back to the good ol' days - singing our sentences, writing funny notes to each other, and sneaking out for the occasional sunny happy hour :)  Love ya, lady!

Momiji

Right before I jetted off to Paris, I met up with Maddie and Erika at Momiji on Capitol Hill since none of us can resist a good sushi spot.  The space is beautiful - there are 3 different rooms, 2 of which are separated by this awesome zen garden below.  The rolls were huge (we ordered 3 and couldn't finish them all), the price was right, and the company was lovely :)  I'll definitely be heading back to this one when I'm in the neighborhood.
