Sweden {Part II - IKEA Museum}

One of my favorite things we did in Sweden was something I’ve wanted to do since my first visit - go to the IKEA Museum. Located in the very first IKEA store in Almhult, it’s only about an hour drive from C’s house and we all decided to head down there for the day and see what it was all about.  The museum was great - they had an exhibit featuring its trailblazing women designers throughout the years, along with a decade by decade showcase of the company and a feature on the founder, Ingvar Kamprad {who seemed like a pretty amazing guy}. We spent several hours wandering through the museum learning all about this iconic brand, then after picking up a few things at the gift shop we went to the cafeteria where I had my very first IKEA meal, which seemed even better than the one they serve in the states. Afterwards we checked out a few shops in Almhult then headed to the newer and bigger flagship IKEA store to do a little shopping before heading back to the house {I was most impressed with their huge Christmas selection}. It was a fun day doing something so iconically Swedish and definitely a highlight of the trip.
