I had casually mentioned awhile ago that I thought a great quarantine birthday dinner would be a takeout picnic in the park, so Christian took that idea and ran with it. Friday night we picked up some yummy takeout at Bakers in Sunset Hill then drove over to Sunset Hill park which wasn't too crowded so we set out our blanket and supplies far away from anyone else and settled in. We opened a bottle of Tres Sabores rosé {my fave} and instantly poured a celebratory glass while we snacked on the insanely delicious charred scallion dip with fresh veggies {seriously - if you go to Bakers for just one thing make sure it's that dip}. We dug into our shared sandwiches {the dungness crab roll and turkey club} which were both exceptionally good and perfect for a picnic and drank wine while taking in the views of the sound and the beginnings of sunset. After dinner {and as the wind started to pick up} we packed up our picnic and drove around Sunset Hill a bit before heading back home for some more wine and Netflix. A perfect birthday indeed :)
