Honeymoon {Amalfi}

After we left Ravello {by bus this time!} we decided to spend some time wandering around the town of Amalfi.

The famous Amalfi lemons!

The main town square.

It wasn't as big as Positano, but still equally packed with people.

We wandered the streets, looking in shops and checking out souvenirs.....

....and finding hidden quiet corners....

....but the main attraction for us was this Lemon Delight!

This traditional Amalfi dessert is a lemon cake filled with lemon cream and dunked in more lemon frosting.  You'd think it would be way too sweet, but the Italians know what they're doing and it tastes insanely fresh, light and perfect.  Definitely a food highlight of the coast!

After a bit of time strolling through Amalfi, we were tired and ready to head back to Praiano.

We hopped on the bus, which was crowded and scary.....

....like, how do they drive like this?

We were dropped off at the tobacco shop and headed back towards our hotel....

.....where we had a celebratory cold beer as the sun went down and celebrated another successful, yet unexpected day.

That night we decided to try dinner at La Posteria, a cute little restaurant in Praiano with an outdoor patio we had walked past several times {I again made a reservation earlier in the day for that night and had no problems getting in}.

We shared a bottle of wine, and since the tables were so close I couldn't help but hear that the people at the neighboring table were from Woodinville!  We struck up a conversation with them, sharing tips and tricks for the rest of the trip and hearing all about each others travels.  We also got into a lively conversation with two other tables at the restaurant {both from New York} about pizza and all things Italian food, and it was a hilarious, loud, and entertaining night.

A great way to end another wonderful day on the coast!
