Sawyer

In keeping with tradition, Erika and I went out to dinner for my birthday last night and just barely slid it in before hers {which is on Friday}.  It's one of my most favorite traditions of ours, not only because we usually get to try somewhere yummy and new, but we get to spend some quality time together, which is becoming more rare in these busy lives we lead.  We decided to go to Sawyer in Ballard {where David and I went for drinks a few weeks back} and were incredibly impressed with every dish we had.  We started with a bottle of wine to share and with our servers' recommendations went with the cheesy bread {which tasted like amazingly fresh Hot Pockets - trust me on this one}, cucumber salad, and oxtail nachos.  I'm not sure which were my favorite, but we decided to save room for dessert and ordered the s'more chaco tacos which were perfectly sized for the two of us and just sweet enough to end our meal.  We begrudgingly left our table after hours of eating, drinking, and catching up, and it made me realize just how important it is to have this girl time.  Good food and great friends - does it get any better?

xoxo,
